Overview

Responsible for developing and achieving fundraising goals through management of both institutional partners and individual donors. This position oversees a diverse portfolio of corporate, foundation, and government funders while simultaneously managing individual giving programs. Serves as primary contact for a portfolio of 25 to 35 external partners, delivering presentations and promoting Goodwill's visibility in the regional philanthropic landscape. This position is responsible and will be held accountable for behaving in accordance with divisional and organizational RISE values and expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Individual Giving Management
1. Develops and implements strategies to grow revenue in Major Gifts, Direct Mail, Annual Giving, Online Gifts and Workplace giving, and the number of donors engaged in the $1,000+ Ambassadors Circle and Legacy Society giving clubs.
2. Manages, writes, and executes direct mail program and additional email fundraising campaigns.
3. Measures and evaluates the success of all Individual Giving programs, providing timely and accurate reporting of donor campaign revenue.
4. Contributes to the growth of planned giving programs, implementing new strategies and protocols to attract new bequests.
5. Oversees Goodwill's Employee Giving and Combined Federal Campaigns.

 

Donor Stewardship and Relationship Building
1. Manages a portfolio of sub-$1K individual and institutional funder relationships through meetings, prospecting calls, event attendance, and written communications.
2. Work with Development Coordinator to develop and implement Goodwill's stewardship program to ensure all donors (both institutional and individual) receive prompt and appropriate acknowledgment for their gifts.
3. Provides oversight for year-round donor engagement events to attract, cultivate, and steward current and prospective donors to Goodwill, including tours, donor gatherings, etc. with support from the Development Coordinator.
4. Maintains appropriate and relevant donor relationship data, including demographic information, donor interests, volunteer info, and stewardship activities.
5. Works with team members to research and develop personalized giving plans, executes meeting preparation, and maintains strong donor pipelines.

 

Institutional Giving Management
1. Conducts prospect research and manages timeline for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for institutional funders.
2. Prepares presentations and funder briefings for all prospects.
3. Ensures prompt submission of assigned corporate proposals and reports.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
1. BA Degree in English, Communications, Business, or related field.
2. Minimum 4 years of related experience in fundraising, which provides the skills, knowledge and ability necessary to perform the above tasks.
3. Experience using CRM systems.
4. Proven track-record of securing and managing institutional gifts at the five and six-figure level.
5. Experience managing individual giving programs, including direct mail campaigns, major gifts, and online fundraising.
6. Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels, both internal and external to Goodwill.
8. Proven ability to find and develop new philanthropic partnerships.
9. Demonstrated experience and ability to collaborate internally and externally to achieve goals.
10. Experienced with grant application and reporting processes.
11. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access).
12. Proven organizational abilities, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
13. Ability to take initiative and utilize innovative techniques in preparing fundraising strategies.
14. Ability to interact with all levels of management and to participate as a team player on all projects.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience using Raiser's Edge database.
2. Experience managing donor events and stewardship programs.
