Overview

The VP, Retail Development and Property Management will work closely with the CEO, local designated retail brokers and leadership team to define and execute strategic retail growth initiatives, including new locations and expansion projects. This role will be responsible for preparing financial proposals for potential sites, leading cross-functional teams to develop and build out new retail stores, donation centers, and warehouses. Additionally, the position will oversee property management and facilities maintenance while collaborating with the external brokers and stakeholders to ensure successful execution of expansion strategies. This position is responsible and will be held accountable for behaving in accordance with divisional and organizational RISE values and expectations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work with CEO to identify, evaluate, and acquire opportunities for new retail stores, donation centers, donation trailers, and warehouse locations.
2. Prepare detailed proposals including pro forma financials for any potential new retail store sites.
3. Lead expansion efforts to select and build out new retail store and warehouse locations, partnering with external brokers and other third parties as needed.
4. Oversight of property management and facilities maintenance operations.
5. Execute on other expansion initiatives and projects as directed by the CEO.


Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conducts retail location analysis to ensure successful Goodwill retail sites.
2. Maintains multi-year outlook of expiring leases and new locations.
3. Lead expansion efforts to execute and build out additional locations of The Goodwill Excel Center, Public Charter School.

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

1. Responsible for the activities of the Senior Director of Property and Project Management.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

1. Ten years’ experience in retail management and leadership roles.
2. Previous work experience with a multi-location retail organization.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of commercial property management.
4. Demonstrated program and project management skills.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
6. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and lead cross-functional teams.
7. Positive, flexible attitude and ability to adjust priorities quickly to meet changing business needs.
8. Self-starter who can work effectively with minimal direction and oversight.


Physical Demands

Sedentary
Lifting up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and files. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
