Overview

This position plays a pivotal role in enhancing Goodwill’s learning and development initiatives by creating and delivering engaging, impactful, and effective learning experiences. Develops learning courses using synchronous and asynchronous methods. Serves as the Administrator of Goodwill’s LMS. This role collaborates closely with the Director of Learning and Development and stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver high-quality learning programs that align with organizational goals. This position is responsible, and will be held accountable, for behaving in accordance with divisional and organizational RISE values and expectations.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Acts as a point of contact for all inquiries and requests from team members concerning Learning & Development.
  2. Conducts learning needs assessments among team members to determine the learning needs that support organizational goals.
  3. Develops adult learning curricula for learning programs utilizing instructional design principles to craft learning experiences; recommends course revisions and ensures up-to-date maintenance of course materials. This includes synchronous and asynchronous learning, with emphasis on the development of eLearning using sound instructional design methodology.
  4. Creates and maintains the comprehensive training Calendar and negotiates changes as needed from management requests.
  5. Leads “Train-the-Trainer” efforts for other department trainers learning to deliver team member development programs.
  6. Serves as primary LMS Administrator, supporting team member needs related to access, managing course content within the system, assignment of learning, and other roles as needed.
  7. Remains engaged in learning industry best practices and technologies to provide learning and enrichment opportunities for employees.
  8. Keeps record of employee participation in all learning events.
  9. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Learning and Development.

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Networks with other Goodwill agencies, Goodwill International, and other organizations to determine best practices in learning and development to advance our mission.
  2. Other duties as assigned by Director of Learning & Development.

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities at the present time but may evolve to include such responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

  1. Bachelors Degree in a related field plus 3 years’ experience delivering training OR High School Diploma, plus 4 years’ experience delivering training programs.
  2. Knowledge of adult learning and instructional design principles, including use of a content authoring tool (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) for professional and engaging learning programs and products.
  3. Strong instructional skills as evidenced by prior success in an outcome-driven classroom setting. Ability to facilitate and make presentations to diverse audiences.
  4. First rate interpersonal skills.
  5. Demonstrated experience in assisting individuals in removing barriers to achieve personal success, as evidenced by a successful track record.
  6. Ability to work independently and with a team.
  7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  8. Outstanding organizational and administrative skills.
  9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  10. Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information.
  11. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  1. Masters degree.
  2. Bilingual, Spanish/English.
  3. Experience working with people with disadvantages and disabilities.
