Leads the execution, logistics, and management of Goodwill events including community engagement activities and retail celebrations as well as internal events such as high school graduations, and Goodwill team celebrations including the RISE Awards. Establishes, coordinates, administers and manages Goodwill’s community donation drive strategy that yields high-quality donations of household goods. This position is responsible and will be held accountable for behaving according to departmental and organizational RISE values and expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Leads the execution of Goodwill special events, both internal and external.
2. Manages event logistics, management of supplies and resources, development of event signage, communications, coordination, and collaboration.
3. Serves as the primary marketing point of contact for internal and external events, while keeping key Goodwill leaders well-informed including the Director of Communications & Community Engagement, The Senior Director of Brand Marketing, and the Chief Marketing Officer.
4. Assists with the creation of event budgets and secures pricing estimates that will drive budgeting.
5. Builds, maintains, and manages a donation program through community relationship building, including, but not limited to, residential property management agencies (HOAs, Condo Associations), non-profit organizations, special event organizers, and corporate partners (in partnership with our development team).
6. Works closely with the transportation department to plan, coordinate, and lead donation-driven events and activities.
7. Partners with the Development, and Donated Goods & Retail teams to create a holistic approach to building strong community relationships through external donation acquisition strategies, special events, and promotional opportunities, including event design, collateral design and distribution, and promotion.
8. Communicates regularly with the Director of Communications and Community Engagement on planned activities and metric-driven results.
9. Works with the Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Communications & Community Engagement to develop a realistic budget and goals.
10. Maintains donation drive metrics on donation volume and provides reports on donation yield following each donation drive to Director of Communications & Community Engagement, Director of Transportation, and VP of Donated Goods & Retail.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct site visits and attend donation drives and special events.
2. Responsible for helping to identify mobile donation sites in accordance with GGW’s donation strategy.
3. Tracks critical data relevant to donations' quantity, quality, and value and assists with data analysis.
4. Assist with creating standard operating procedures relevant to community events and follow up on implementing those procedures.
5. Other duties as assigned.
*This position requires using a personal vehicle for frequent travel within the DC Metropolitan area. Flexible work hours and the ability to work nights and weekends are essential to this position.

Required Qualifications:
1. Exemplifies Goodwill of Greater Washington’s RISE Values: Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence.
2. Minimum three years of experience in special event planning and management.
3. Ability to interact professionally with individuals and customers at all levels both internal and external to Goodwill.
4. Demonstrated experience and ability to influence and negotiate internally and externally to achieve a set of goals.
5. Shows an understanding of key steps and strategies in promoting a case and persuading one or more groups to “buy in” to a particular course of action.
6. Demonstrated experience partnering with and/or building relationships within the community.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field or equivalent years of experience.
2. Property management or relevant experience.
